About Niels Schroeter
As a successful music executive with over 25 years in artist management and independent label operations, Niels has extensive experience in nearly every area of the music business.
Prior to venturing on his own, he served as General Manager of Warner-distributed label, Surfdog Records, as well as its affiliated management, publishing, and lifestyle marketing divisions. In this position, Niels was a vital contributor in the company's evolution from unfunded start-up to generating millions in annual revenue, propelling the careers of such revered artists as Brian Setzer, Dave Stewart, Jason Newsted, Slightly Stoopid, and others. As well, he managed Surfdog's involvement in action sports and lifestyle marketing initiatives for companies including Pepsi, Best Buy, Warner Bros., and BMG.
Playing a major role in client relations, staff management, outsourcing, and other day-to-day operations, he possesses a unique understanding of the big picture and all of its individual parts.
Since moving forward with starting his own business, Niels continues to pursue his primary passion of advising and guiding aspiring artists, while expanding his horizons through consulting opportunities with independent labels, technology start-ups, companies implementing music initiatives, and investors interested in entering the music space.
Other than work, an active family life, which includes coaching Little League Baseball, keeps him motivated and inspired everyday.
